Ahh, the slow, sunny days of summer. The season of relaxation, strolling along a sandy beach or swimming in a sparkling lake. Summer is the ultimate time to refresh and reset, which is exactly what we’re doing here at Rootastes!
We pride our menus on being locally sourced and globally inspired. We’ve chosen a cultural theme since our very first menu, and have had such fun traveling to Mexico, Greece, France, Japan, and other exciting culinary locales.
But it’s time for a refresh.
Our chefs have been buzzing around the Rootastes kitchen, scheming a new menu concept to debut this summer. They decided that instead of focusing on one destination, our continuing offerings would incorporate flavors from around the world- all in one menu!
Kicking off our new concept is the summer 2019 menu, featuring light, satisfying options that will refresh your day, body, and mind. Because summer is also the season of color, our chefs infused the palettes of sunrises and tropical locales into our lunches.
Honey Rum Glazed Roasted Chicken
Our first protein to make a splash is our Honey Rum Glazed Roasted Chicken. It’s slow roasted in a light homemade Rum Sauce reminiscent of the Caribbean, and drizzled with a whole grain Dijon mustard, and lemon juice.
Lemon Garlic Tofu
Lemon Garlic Tofu is back by customer request! You’ll think you’re in a California lemon grove when you bite into this crunchy, vegan friendly delight.
Old Fashioned Beef BBQ Steak
And what’s summer without a grill? Our Old Fashioned Beef Barbecue Steak is rubbed in our homemade blend of barbecue herbs and spices, tossed with pineapple, and then glazed with our house barbecue sauce before being roasted to delight.
Caribbean-Spiced Pork Chops & Corn-U-Salsa
Can’t get enough of the Caribbean? Try our pan-roasted pork chops, rubbed in a delicious Caribbean spice blend, lime juice, and fresh cilantro. We recommend pairing with our Corn-U-Salsa.
And for days when you wish you were on a beach in Mexico, order our Mojito Shrimp. You’ll think you’re savoring a cocktail!
Summer Pesto Pasta
Enhance the flavor of these proteins with an assortment of our Heart of the Roots sides, including the Mediterranean-inspired Summer Pesto Potato Rotini Salad- made with gluten free pasta!
The sunrise palette comes in with our Sunrise Salad, a rainbow of red beets, oranges, and arugula.
To top it all off, our sauces for the season are Thai Sweet Chili, Garlic Basil Aioli, Orange Balsamic, Home Style Light Ranch, and Mango Lime Vinaigrette.
Infused Water & Blueberry Lemon Crumble
Our delicate Berry Citrus Infused Water blends berries with cucumber, lemon, mint, and Bauman’s Best Botanicals Natural Berry Shrub. Sip while savoring our Blueberry Lemon Crumble, our dessert of the season.
