3 Recommended Team Activities to Do Before Winter is Gone

Winter can be a challenging time for teambuilding activities. The weather is cold and unpredictable, the days are short, and the snow is deep, but the winter months have a sort of magic that sunnier cannot emulate. Because how can you not smile from chucking a snowball?

We believe that the elements of winter should be embraced, and are sharing three awesome teambuilding activities to try before the spring thaw.

Snowshoe excursion

Head to your local park or meet your team outside of the city for an afternoon snowshoe. The sunshine will give everyone a much needed Vitamin D pick-me-up, and exercise is known to boost many cognitive functions, including memory, faster learning, improved concentration, and enhanced creativity.

If the logistics of team snowshoeing are too much, try ice skating.

Play like your kids

If you’re planning a more extensive winter teambuilding day, use the snow to your advantage. Plan a snowman building competition, a treasure hunt with text message or paper clues, a snowball fight, and even dog sledding. (Click here for more ideas.)

Meditate

With shorter days and brisker temperatures, we’re more inclined to cozy up inside. Take advantage of this laidback vibe by incorporating a meditation program into your office. Meditation has been proven to release stress, boost the immune system, improve our decision-making skills, and more. Not only that, if your employees are involved in planning the meditation program, they’re likely to build a stronger team.

Snow days aren’t the only way to enjoy the season. Embrace the winter and plan your next teambuilding activity around the white stuff.
